Driils treated with diamond
In recent years, printed circuit board manufacturers have faced several problems due to the processing of more performing materials used for assembly, both in the telecommunications sector, in the military, medical sector etc. Halogen free materials, IMS and laminates with different types of fillers greatly influence the performance and durability of the carbide tools normally used for the processing of circuits. The reduction of the parameters and the shorter life of the drills have caused a considerable increase in production costs. Many manufacturers have therefore preferred to use diamond-treated tools to respond to the growing yield difficulties and compensate for the increase in costs.
Here is the check list that I recommend to use regardless of the type of tool used.
