Diamond treated drills
In recent years, PCB manufacturers have faced a number of problems due to the processing of higher performance materials used for assembly in the telecommunications, military, medical and other sectors. Halogen-free materials, IMS and laminates with different types of fillers have a significant impact on the performance and durability of the carbide tools normally used to process printed circuit boards. The reduction in parameters and the shorter life of the drills have resulted in a significant increase in production costs. Many manufacturers have therefore preferred to use diamond-treated tools in order to respond to the increasing yield difficulties and to compensate for the increase in costs.
